Saturday Night Clubbing

Most towns have a hip area where the kids come out to play, in Guadalajara, this is Chapultepec Avienda. The evening started with the ladies of my class meeting up for a dinner around 7. We walked from the hostel where two of us are staying to the land of restaurants and clubs.

One of the delights of walking around the city is all the murals you come across.

The variety of styles encountered makes one feel like they're constantly walking around a museum.

An advert for a play I wish I had gotten to see. The world really does love to make fun of my home country. For good reason, I can say.

Club C3, home to touring groups from around the country and world. We attended on a La Catarina themed costume party electronica night.

Classmate checking out the local sites.

Fellow couchsurfer, giving great Luchador face, while a couple of boneheads behind check out each other's wares?

The blue lady in the middle was the generous couchsurfer who invited us all to hang tonight. The party was supposed to happen on Friday, but was postponed due to the hurricane. Due to this, everyone who had a ticket got to bring a friend for free, and she had extra tickets from friends who couldn't make it on Saturday. Free entry, plus free drinks til midnight for ladies, made this a very economical night.

Costume contest competitors. A good selection of calaveras. And if it's hard to make out, that's Michael Jackson on the right with baby Blanket ready to hang over the crowd.
